Are there any vacancies left in Formula One?

Nick de Vries – the Dutch inexperienced car racer is in a position to knock Riccardo and Schumacher off the podium! And Schwartzman has no chance at all! What a sensation!

“Alfa Romeo, the Italian company that designs and manufactures high-end sports cars, has announced that it is extending the contract with Chinese race car driver Guangyu Zhou to compete in Formula One.

There are only three places left available for next year. One of them is ‘floating’, so to speak.

Formula 1 is undergoing a global reshuffle.

I wonder what the line-up will be and who will these competitors be competing for?

As soon as it was made, quite unexpectedly, the announcement that Fernando Alonso is going to leave Alonso to join the team at Aston Martin, Alpin quickly confirmed that Alonso’s place next year is reserved for Oscar Piastri – a promising young driver.

He’s already eagerly awaited in the sub-dock. But, very soon, just a couple of hours later, he writes on social media that this treatment has not been agreed with him. He has not signed any contracts and will not be competing for Alpin next year.

Left without two pilots at once, he is forced to look for another pilot for 2023.

“Alpin is a team from France, based on Renault, to compete in Formula One races and to promote and publicise their Alpin cars”.

But the French are not discouraged, because they know that Alpin is the best option. And then, the team are in no hurry to choose a pilot. There is time until January, so Enstone is not worried. That’s what happened with Mercedes, when it left Rosberg.

Nick de Vries in Formula 1

For some reason, everyone thinks Daniel Riccardo might be among the contenders. But after the Aussie fled to McLaren (a British team) he is not much coveted at Enstone.

The name most often cited is Jack Duane. He is a pupil at Alpin Academy and made his Formula Two debut this year, 2022. There he came fourth and showed good speed in those races.

Another driver rumoured to be joining Alpin is Pierre Gasly. He has a 2023 contract with Alfa Tourie. But, Red Bull’s current head of driver education (development) programme, former Austrian driver Helmut Marko, who has competed in the World Racing Championship, has raised the possibility of replacing Gasly if he decides to leave.

For Alpin, the best option is the experienced Enstone road racer Gasly.

But, if, suddenly, “Alpin” is not so principled presence of experience in the driver, then the question of Nick de Vries will be considered. quite acceptable option, although some think that such a decision is reckless.

But either way – Nick has good speed even now.

And if you are far-sighted, then for him, in 2024, a season of Formula 1 will be much more useful than another year in Formula 2.

And then, de Vries did a great job when he replaced Alex Albon at the Italian Grand Prix. There he also met Helmut Marko, the Red Bull chief executive.
